"We Still Do" - Renewal of Vows
Couples choose to renew their marriage vows for many reasons, but regardless of the reason, they all have one thing in common - they wish to reaffirm their bond as a couple. And that is awesome!
Any married couple, of any age, married for any length of time, can enjoy a Renewal of Vows ceremony! You really don't need a reason - if you feel the love, then just do it!
It is not a legal service, but you will have a day that you and your guests will remember for years to come.
What a great excuse to get together and celebrate, whether it be an intimate ceremony with just the two of you, a backyard party, or even a visit to your original wedding day location. There are lots of options from just a few simple words; maybe a certificate to mark the occasion; or even a wine, candle or sand ceremony - the choices are limitless.
You could repeat your original wedding vows (if you remember them), give them an update with a modern twist, or write completely new ones to reflect your current position in life. You can exchange wedding rings - either the existing bands, or those same bands with some new engraving, or even new rings just to surprise each other.
I would love to talk to you and help you organise an amazing day like this - it would be so rewarding for us both!
- Some choose to have a renewal ceremony at a milestone anniversary, say 10 or 20 years.
- Others do it after a rocky time in the relationship and they want to celebrate their renewed commitment to each other.
- Maybe you eloped or, for whatever reason, you were not able to have the wedding of your dreams at the time you were wed, but would now love to have a ceremony and enjoy it with all your friends and family.
- Perhaps a partner is suffering ill health and you want to offer them strength with your continued commitment.
- Maybe now the kids have all left home and you find your relationship somewhat different as "empty nesters".

- You could have your children as witnesses - or how about a get together with your original wedding party?
- The maid of honour and best man from that special day years ago could walk you down the aisle or do a special reading for you.
- Sometimes the original best man and maid of honour actually organise the Renewal Ceremony as a surprise to the couple - the choice is yours,

Renewal of Vows, David and Sharon Jacka, Lavington - 27 November, 2021
To celebrate their 45th (Sapphire) wedding anniversary, Dave and Sharon held a renewal ceremony at their home, surrounded by family and friends. It was a beautiful heartfelt evening, with tears, laughter, dancing and love. Their grandchildren were involved as flower girls and best man - and they loved it!

a 500 year old poem, by Francois Voltaire
"Sensual pleasure passes and vanishes in the twinkling of an eye,
but the friendship between us, the mutual confidence, the delights of the heart,
the enchantment of the soul, these things do not perish and can never be destroyed.
I shall love you until I die."
