Commitment Ceremonies
A Commitment Ceremony is a public declaration of the love and commitment of two people for each other, usually for those who choose not to enter into a legal binding arrangement such as marriage.
It is a way to have public validation of your relationship shared with family and friends and helps to celebrate the transition from one social state to another.

Your Commitment Ceremony can be just as authentic and powerful as a wedding ceremony. It can have similar parts to a wedding such as the procession, readings, ring exchange and vows, it just does not have the legal wording of a wedding and is not legally binding by law.
In the past, Commitment Ceremonies were usually held by same sex couples who were not legally allowed to marry in Australia - thank goodness that is no longer the case! However, some same sex couples may still choose a simple Commitment Ceremony over marriage. Sometimes the partners in a relationship have both been married before and don't feel the need to marry again, so they have a Commitment Ceremony to declare their love in a way that feels true to them. |
So, if you are in love, but just not ready to take the big step into a legal marriage, I would be
honoured to help you organise your very
own Commitment Ceremony!
